Shivaji Maharaj was the first Hindu king to have carved out a kingdom after a long hiatus in Deccan. He was most able administrators and ruler in India was thus the father of the Freedom Movement in Maharashtra and a source of inspiration to the peoples throughout India. He was the founder of the Maratha Empire in India. With his flawless warrior skills and unlimited courage, he ruled the Deccan region, parts of central India and parts of modern day Pakistan with a firm hand.
Considering the above Government of Maharashtra intends to develop the statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Arabian Sea near Marine Drive, Mumbai.
